Hi everyone,
I need feedback from people who have happened to have to leave their dog for a while for whatever reason. I am going to the UK next Thursday and, unfortunately, cannot take my dog with me. I am going there for about 11 days. I am a bit stressed out about leaving her behind although I know she'll be in good hands with people she knows very well. Please, tell me about your story if you ever had to do this before, I would really appreciate it!! thanks
Lyn & Twinny
Hi lyn, I do know what it is like, all though all I was doing was going on holiday and they would say know dogs allowed. Theese were holidays for blind people in the UK. I don't like leaving Luke even though I know he will be all right with my mum and sister. He goes in a huff when ever I am not with him. Michelle and Luke
If the dog has to accompany you as a guide shouldn't you be able to take her..as for leaving her she will pick up on how you are feeling and become anxious.I've left the big fella on a few occasions, and he also goes in the huff, smile. Reassure yourself that she will be happy and well cared for and enjoy yourself over here.
well thanks to u both! Goblin, the UK laws are tough, for all dogs including guide-dogs. You cannot take your dog into the UK unless you have the dogs go through a series of tests. Once you get the results, you have to wait 6 months before the dog can enter the UK and the 6 months are not up yet unfortunately. Twinny will finally be able to travel with me to the UK starting in November the 12. I am going to attend a concert on the 26 in London, that's why I am going to the UK before my dog can travel with me. Anyway, thanks for your answer.

Ahh of course I try to forget red tape.Smile
Red tape fucking sucks. Sorry, but it really fucking does. Those guide dog laws make me so encredibly angry. Don't worry though, I'm sure your dog will be just fine. If they're a lab they'll hardly notice you're gone, but will still be glad to see you return. If they're a shepard or collie they'll be a bit down in the dumps, but it's not for long and they'll be so rediculously happy to see you again, it will be worth the seperation to have them do the waggle dance for you when you come back.
